RUSI: All-embracing strategy is good first step

The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) says the breadth of the government's national security strategy is its strongest point.
The strategy covers a range of security threats including from environmental, terrorism and rogue state sources.
Dr Tobias Feakin, the RUSI's director of homeland security and resilience, said the "acid test" of the strategy would be how well it is received by experts, academics and the public in the coming weeks.
But he said: "I think it presents us with a good first step in understanding the interrelated nature of the current environment that currently exists globally, and it also presents a good first step in trying to create more coherence departmentally with Whitehall and the way that we approach security."
