Cons: People voting Tory in huge numbers

Commenting on the Conservative victory in the Crewe and Nantwich by-election, a Conservative spokesman told politics.co.uk:
"The interesting thing about the result is that it's not just about Gordon Brown but there's a huge swing to the Conservatives, which means people are coming over to us directly from Labour which we haven't seen for the last 30 years.
"I think it's fair to say we're feeling pretty happy. No one predicted the result would be this momentous so we're pretty delighted, as you might expect.
"People in this area who have never voted Conservative before are now doing so in huge, huge numbers."
