Violence in Egypt

The movement to expel Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak endured its most violent day yesterday, as pro- and anti-Mubarak groups clashed in the streets.
Demonstrators claimed that the pro-Mubarak crowd was composed predominantly of secret policemen and released prisoners.
Those reports were at substantiated by a variety of media sources.
Health minister Ahmed Samih Farid said 836 people had been taken to hospital and at least five people had died.
