Musa Kusa defection
Friday, 1 April 2011 00:00
Libyan foreign minister Musa Kusa has fled to London amid signs that Colonel Gaddafi is losing key supporters.
His defection has prompted a push for other officials to break with Tripoli and bring about the collapse of the Gaddafi regime from within.
But it has also raised questions about whether Mr Kusa is seeking immunity in exchange for information.
The government said Mr Kusa will not be granted immunity, but to encourage other defections it is unlikely they will be heavy-handed with the former foreign secretary.
Scottish investigators have asked to interview Mr Kusa about the Lockerbie bombing.
