Liam Fox crisis deepens

Liam Fox's business connections with ex-flat mate Adam Werrity will be scrutinised by the prime minister today, when Mr Cameron studies the interim report detailing the business relationship between the two old friends.

The defence secretary has admitted he 'made mistakes' in his dealings with Mr Werrity, who acted as best man at Mr Fox's wedding, but has denied any wrongdoing.

Concern over the relationship grew when it emerged Mr Werrity had access to top-level meetings at the MOD, even though he did not have the necessary security clearance.

Although Mr Werrity is not an employee of Mr Fox's department, he had been distributing business advertising himself as an 'adviser' to the defence secretary.
