Government policy review over riots
15/08/11
David Cameron has announced a major review of all government policies in an attempt to deal with what he calls Britain's "broken society".
The prime minister spoke about a "slow-motion moral collapse" within society and the need to ensure government policies are bold enough to ensure a repeat of last week's rioting is avoided.
Children without fathers and schools without discipline were both featured in a long list of perceived problems which he said need to be addressed.
However the review has not been universally well received with Labour leader Ed Miliband attempting to increase pressure on the government to set up a public inquiry into the cause of the riots.
