Future Forum final report
13/06/11
The NHS Future Forum will release its final report into the government's controversial health and social care bill today.
The bill, which would ease restrictions on private firms in the NHS, encourage competition and set up GPS consortia, is extremely unpopular with most health professionals.
After 200 consultations with medical staff, the body is expected to scrap the current timetable, expand the consortia to include other professionals and end the focus on competition.
Andrew Lansley, David Cameron and Nick Clegg will offer a detailed response tomorrow.
NHS Confederation: Government must give NHS clarity
Labour: Rumours of changes heavy with Lib Dem spin
King's Fund: 'Pause' has served NHS well
NHS Future Forum: Reform is needed
Unite: Privatisation will not be abandoned
