Coalition discontent

Further statements indicating the unhappiness of some Lib Dems with elements of the coalition have raised debate over its unity.

Comments by Lib Dem ministers recorded by undercover reporters and released today reveal personal dislike of senior Conservative figures such as George Osborne.

Other ministers have hit back, however - insisting that although natural disagreement persists, the structure of the coalition itself is strong.

Labour meanwhile have continued to push forward the narrative that the government is essentially Conservative in nature, with leader Ed Miliband referring to Lib Dem ministers as "passengers".
