AV referendum
Monday, 18 April 2011 00:00
Both the 'no' and 'yes' to campaigns hosted cross-party events as the referendum on the alternative vote looms ever closer.
The 'yes' campaign saw Labour leader Ed Miliband and Liberal Democrat business secretary Vince Cable share a platform.
Meanwhile prime minister David Cameron and former Labour home secretary John Reid joined forces to expand on the merits of First Past the Post.
A poll released yesterday by ComRes for the Independent on Sunday newspaper showed the 'no' campaign ahead but with a little over last two weeks before the referendum these events will be key for both campaigns to get their message across to the public.
