Anti-social behaviour

By arguing police forces need a new approach to tackle anti-social behaviour, HM inspector of constabulary has drawn the issue to the fore as spending cuts for the police loom large.

Sir Denis O'Connor argued that anti-social behaviour should be treated more seriously by the police who are often deemed "unconcerned or ineffectual", giving it low priority compared to other tasks.

Public concern over the issue of low-level disturbances remains high, and police forces nationwide will struggle to implement any new initiative without funding which is set to be drastically scaled back come the spending review on October 20th.
