In a worst-case scenario ministers predict swine flu could see one in eight employees off work by the end of August. How will businesses cope with this threat?

Earlier this morning the Lords' science and technology committee expressed disappointment at the government's preparations for the pandemic.

With the Department of Health struggling under the weight of its potential implications, experts are discussing how the private sector is preparing for the impact of swine flu.

Dr Laurence Buckman, chairman of the British Medical Association's GPs committee, and the British Chambers of Commerce's director general David Frost will discuss how businesses are coping with the crisis from 11:00 BST.
